2014 The Four Graces Reserve Pinot Noir, Yamhill-Carlton
Earthy aromas leap from the glass and are complemented by a touch of lavender and ripened blue berries. With a smooth velvety texture, this wine delivers layers of dark bramble fruits and cocoa dust leading into a long fruit driven finish. The balanced acidity, vibrant freshness and integrated tannins are all signatures of The Doe Ridge Estate fruits.
100% Pinot Noir
September 16, 2014
14 months in 100% French Oak
The 2014 growing season was just about as good as it gets. Some saying it could be the best season in more than a decade, which we agree with! The summer’s consistently hot days were followed by warm nights and just the right amount of sprinkling rain. The higher than average overnight lows allowed grapes to mature faster without putting stress on the vines, which lets the grapes come together in balance and flavor to produce an excellent wine. Yields are higher than normal and quality of fruit is very high. All fruit was hand harvested from September 16th 2014.
Over 14 months in French oak has contributed a velvety softness to the mouth feel without masking the lovely red to black fruit characteristics. Sourced from Block 18 of Doe Ridge Estate Vineyard in Oregon’s Yamhill- Carlton District, this Pinot Noir benefits from vine age and sustainable farming. The Yamhill Carlton AVA is one of six American Viticultural Areas in the Willamette Valley.
